Totally Natural Skin Cream
Easy to make, inexpensive, and has a wonderful scent from the
beeswax. Use any oil that is edible (safe for eating)--your health
food store will have some good ones. If you are allergic to nuts,
don't use a nut oil. Beeswax can be purchased at a health food
store or from the honey farmer at a farmer's market.
Reserve a pot for your cream making, as it is difficult to remove
the residue from the pot.
4 ounces of oil
4 Tbsp beeswax
Melt together in a pot on very low heat. (Be careful. If overheated,
oil will start a fire!) Stir well to combine. Pour into a small
glass jar and allow to cool.
If you want a softer cream, use less beeswax - experiment with
the amount of oil & beeswax, to get the consistency that you
prefer. To test consistency, dip a knife or spoon into the warm
mixture, and cool in the refrigerator for a minute.
Use for hands, baby's bottom, etc. Set some aside for lip gloss.
