Olive oil makes a good skin lubricant. Drugstores sell this, but the cold-pressed extra-virgin cooking oil that you buy from your health food store is even better. And, a little goes a long way as a skin softener, so you can use the rest for cooking. You can use any edible oil as a skin softener, or as a massage oil, but if nut allergy is a problem, do not use nut oils such as almond oil.
